Activities
Gaucin is a quiet but intriguing "white village" presenting many opportunities for walking or just sauntering! It is a place to relax and unwind or experience "quality time" with friends and family. Talks by local bird watchers, historians and artists can add an "interest" flavour to your holiday. Yoga sessions on your terrace can add that "feel good" factor.
For those wishing to be a bit more energetic, several mountain bikes are available (together with helmets). Horse riding stables are also situated just 20 mins from Gaucin.
Should you wish to leave the oasis of The CasaBlanca and Gaucin, there are numerous options, including:
- A half or full day visit to Ronda (approx 40 mins by spectacular road through National Park) - a town steeped in history, boasting the oldest bull ring in Spain! Go shopping or just sit in one of the numerous cafe/restaurants and watch the world go by.
- A day visit to Tangiers (Morocco) - one of the most cosmopolitan cities of the Arab world. Our very experienced and personable guide will meet you at the high speed ferry and take you to see an unforgettable view of local culture. (Leave Gaucin at 0900 and be back for supper!)
- A (long) day trip to Granada - home of the very famous Alhambra Palace
- Whale watching - off the Atlantic coast of Tarifa (approx 1 hour away)
- For the nautically minded, sailing or motor sailing (day or half day) on the Mediterranean (approx 45 mins away)
- A flamenco evening - to Ronda (see above) to experience one of the most professional flamenco troupes in Spain - plus the flamenco museum. An early meal may be taken before departing or dinner may be taken at the venue (additional cost).
- For the children a visit to Selwo Safari Park (approx 50 mins away) is fun - and posibly link it to a trip to the beach and a swim in the Mediterranean.
- A game of golf on one of Spain's famous coastal courses (approx 40 mins)
